Synergy: ART OF HUSTLE artists unite!
I was excited to learn about and now also hip you to artist Lisa Hsia. Lisa took the Art Of Hustle training that was offered at Kearny Street Workshop, and she has since continued to make strides – joining us here as an Art Of Hustle directory member and crafting fun projects through her blog.
Among her creations is a platform called “Open Mic Friday”. A lot like a live open mic – providing a safe space for emerging talent to showcase their work, Lisa’s presentation goes one significant leap further by taking advantage of the Internet’s reach. It is an online forum accepting submissions of any genre: paintings, sketchbook pages, funny essays, poetry, first-draft fiction, and more. Which then publishes on that loveliest of days. Coincidentally, the one also sharing the namesake of famed painter Frida Kahlo.
The most recent installment was especially thrilling for me because it featured the photography of another Art Of Hustle directory member, Ann Borja. And that’s what’s up, is it not??? Connection, collaboration, and mutual growth! Gotta love it. Check out Ann’s collection of portraits dedicated to her mother, who is also a survivor of cancer, Edith Borja.
